Velsicol’s worldwide business growth has created steady investment and expansion opportunities for the Velsicol Eesti plant. One of the first investments was new sodium benzoate production capability, added shortly after the joint venture. To meet growing demand, two new production units have been added in the past two years – tripling production capabilities and providing customers with their choice of three different product forms and packaging to meet specific requirements.

Improvements have also been made in the facility’s benzoic acid unit, which rates as one of the best among all Velsicol units for production quality and reliability.

Also in 2003, a state-of-the-art potassium benzoate production line began operation.

One of the most exciting developments has been the start of a construction project that will bring production of Velsicol’s proprietary line of Benzoflex plasticizers to Estonia. A new building and large-capacity production unit is expected to be complete this year.
