Velsicol Wuhan Youji Chemical Company Velsicol Wuhan Youji Chemical Company is a joint venture between
Velsicol Chemical Co. and Wuhan Youji Chemical Corp. The joint venture was announced August 2006 with chemical production
beginning at the new facility one year later. It is the focal point for Velsicol’s Asian growth and expansion program
and establishes Velsicol as a true global specialty plasticizer supplier.
Velsicol Wuhan Youji is a world class production facility which produces benzoate ester plasticizers under Velsicol’s
Benzoflex® tradename. The facility is backward integrated
into the key raw materials.
Velsicol's proprietary line of Benzoflex® plasticizers are used in a wide variety of end use applications including construction, adhesives, sealants,
coatings, and consumer products. Benzoflex® plasticizers have become the chemistry of choice due to their
excellent environmental health and safety profile and high performance characteristics. Velsicol is the majority partner in the joint venture.
The production facility located in Wuhan, China has established its business as one of the
premier organic chemical manufacturing and research facilities in the world. The plant is conveniently located
adjacent to State Road 107 to the north, and the Han River to the south. It is only 30 kilometers away from the
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport. It also owns a special railway and quay for chemical transportation.
