Green Seal Indicates that Benzoflex® FP-321 Can Be Used
During a recent product review for GS-40 certification Green Seal conducted an extensive review of Benzoflex®FP-321. Upon completing her analysis Mary Swanson, Senior Environmental Scientist at Green Seal, stated that, 'In fully compliant formulations (the other components must be acceptable and the formulation must meet performance requirements) Benzoflex®FP-321can be used at levels of 5% by weight'.

Velsicol Announces Global Price Increase
Effective April 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, Velsicol Chemical Corporation is increasing prices by up to $0.05/lb on Benzoflex® plasticizers, Velate® coalescents, Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol and Probenz® Sodium and Potassium Benzoate Salts. These increases are necessary due to continuing escalation of raw materials.

Velsicol Chemical Corporation announces the expansion at their Chestertown, MD plant.
Velsicol Chemical Corporation announces the expansion of production capacity for the Benzoflex®, Admex® and Velate® product ranges at their Chestertown, MD plant. The company plans to add 8,000 tons of new production capability beginning in the fourth quarter.

Green Seal Clarifies Velsicol’s Coalescing Aids
Green Seal Clarifies that Velsicol’s Coalescing Aids Are Not “Aromatic Compounds” as Defined in Their GS-11 Standard for Coatings
Some concerns have been raised if benzoate esters are considered aromatic compounds by Green Seal. Since the current coalescing agents sold by Velsicol - Benzoflex® 50, Velate® 262 and Velate® 368 - are esters containing oxygen, they are not affected by this limitation. In addition to being a benzoate ester, Velate® 375, our newest coalescent agent, is readily biodegradable and will also enable you to meet the most stringent VOC regulations.

Velsicol Eesti Invests In Unique ‘Green’ Solution For Water Safety
(Rosemont, Illinois, USA) – Velsicol Chemical Corporation announced the completion of a
high-technology anaerobic treatment system for post-production water at its Velsicol Eesti
manufacturing facility in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia. This represents an ultra low-energy, low-waste
solution to treat water, and is the first usage of this new technology in the Kohtla-Järve area.
